Social Planning & Research

Our team has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods and spatial analysis. We conduct surveys, group discussions and interviews, facilitate workshops, and make use of secondary data sources such as peer reviewed journal articles and ABS data. We have excellent analytical skills and make use of packages such as Nvivo, SPSS, Q, and Mapinfo.

Collecting information is only the first step, however, and translating research into effective policies and strategies is the cornerstone of what we do. Great polices and strategies provide clarity and direction in a complex world and reflect the objectives of a broad range of stakeholders.

We have conducted research and developed polices and strategies relating to:

  • Housing and urban renewal.
  • Licensed premises.
  • Gaming.
  • Walkability and pedestrian safety.
  • Positive ageing.
  • Early years services.
  • Sport and recreation.

Some recent projects include:

  • Baseline Social Conditions Report and Design Recommendations, Prahran Public Housing Estate Master Plan, DHS.
  • Gaming Planning Policy, Cardinia Shire.
  • Licensed Premises Planning Policy, City of Yarra.
  • Ealry Years Plan, Campapse Shire and Macedon Ranges Shire.
  • Study of Pedestrian Safety at Night, City of Yarra.
  • Positive Ageing Strategy, Macedon Ranges Shire.
  • MCH Workforce Strategy, Rural City of Mildura.
